The Edge is engineered to reduce concussion back to the shooter while allowing the use of today’s highly effective muzzle brakes. Rather than designing a brake specifically for a suppressor, The Edge takes the opposite approach: it is a suppressor designed to work with a brake. This design improves gas utilization and delivers a more versatile shooting experience.
There is little to no perceived lengthening of the recoil impulse, allowing the rifle to settle quickly and spot impacts. The system maintains sufficient gas pressure and velocity at the muzzle brake to preserve its performance, while still delivering a noticeable reduction in sound and concussion. Simply put, it takes The Edge off shooting aggressive muzzle brakes.
The Edge is Made in the USA .30 caliber, 4.75in long but only adds 3.6in in overall length to a barrel + brake setup, constructed from a titanium tube, a 1.375×24 HUB-compatible direct-thread adapter, a 5/8×24 threaded cap- 1.420×24 ID Thread (Scythe/Omega cap thread), and stainless steel or titanium baffles. The HUB adapter and cap feature 1¼" wrench flats and are machined to Class 3A/3B tolerances. The tube is machined in a single operation to maximize concentricity.
While The Edge has been tested with caliber-specific brakes, we recommend using an overbore muzzle brake (e.g., .338 for .30 cal, .30 cal for 6.5, 6.5 for 6mm, etc.). This provides additional insurance against barrel threads that may be cut undersized or are nonconcentric. Blueprinted Firearms is not responsible for damage to muzzle devices caused by nonconcentric or undersized threads. Tolerance stacking is a thing, which is why we took extreme care to ensure concentricity and tight tolerances for The Edge.
The Edge is serviceable, with removable end caps for cleaning and maintenance. After extended firing, pre-soaking the suppressor in a cleaning solvent may be required before baffle removal. While The Edge has been tested on 300 Norma Mag Improved (5 shots over 60 seconds) is not intended for use on long-action magnum cartridges, Full Auto or Forced Reset Triggers, or Barrels shorter than 16in.
